@@2tierkier for a start he wasn't White. His mother was born Lydda palaestina and his father was a Roman from Cappadocia which is now Turkey. George was born to to noble Christian parents and raised in Lydd Palestine. He joined the Roman army and wasn't ranked highly. Around 300 Ad the Roman emperor Diocletian ordered that every soldier should be degraded and they should worship Roman gods. Saint George refused, claimed he was Christian and instead gave charity to the poor. The emperor did not agree and tortured him to get him to denounce Christianity. St George was then executed inside the city walls on April 23 303AD. This made him a martyr. His tales reached England in the 8th century but his name wasn't celebrated until the 12th century. He was attached to the legend of slaying a dragon in Berkshire on the flat topped hill in Uffington. St. George never came to the UK and if he had come to modern day England now he would have been considered a migrant. The middle eastern countries already knew about saint George and his sacrifice much earlier than any englishman. They remembered him not for being a Christian but for sticking up for what he believed in and his sacrifice as as a fight of good over evil. So St George wasn't White, he wasn't English, he never came to the UK and never fought a dragon. Maybe the dragon added later by the english was supposed to be a metaphor for evil. The Christian religion wasn't a English religion, st George wasn't an Englishman and neither was Jesus Christ. The tales of St George most likely were spread by the crusaders who heard about him in the middle east. A lot of English festivals and cultures comes from a road. For example valentine's Day, easter,. The English were originally pagans but once they accepted Christianity they needed festivals and religious days to occupy their previous holidays. That's why most of these religious celebrations have been adapted to pagan holidays.
